What a Mistake

I noticed there were several daily scriptures that had been saved as drafts and never published from last year. You will begin receiving scriptures from last year that are in no particular order. Sorry for the inconvenience, though I hope one of these scriptures is exactly what you need today. Thank-you for your understanding and support.

05/21/2011 scripture

And now I will show you the most excellent way. If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

– 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 NLT

06/05/2011 scripture

For a man’s ways are in full view of the Lord. and he examines all paths. The evil deeds of a wicked man ensnare him; the cords of his sin hold him fast. He will die for lack of discipline, led astray by his own great folly.

– Proverbs 5:21-23 NIV

07/21/2011 Scripture

For you, O God, tested us; you refined us like silver. You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs. You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance. I will come to your temple with burnt offerings and fulfill my vows to you-vows my lips promised and my mouth spoke when I was in trouble.

– Psalms 66:10-14 NIV

07/20/2011 Scripture

Come and see what God has done, how awesome his works in man’s behalf! He turned the sea into dry land, they passed through the waters on foot-come, let us rejoice in him. He rules forever by his power, his eyes watch the nations-let not the rebellious rise up against him. Selah. Praise our God, O peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard; he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping.

– Psalms 65:5-9 NIV

The Lord Loves Creation

Every tree seems to be possessed with a new kind of life-in sounds and gestures they are new creatures, born again. The whole valley, sparkling in the late sunlight, looks like atrim, polished, perfect existence. The dome Tissiack looks down the valley like the most living being of all the rocks and mountains; one would fancy that there were brains in that lofty brow. How gradually comes the gloaming over this pearly beauty! What praise songs pour fromt the white chamber of the falls! Surely the Lord loves this new creation, and His angels are now looking down at this new thing the His hands have wrought.

01/11/2012 Scripture

15 But despite Jesus’ instructions, the report of his power spread even faster, and vast crowds came to hear him preach and to be healed of their diseases. 16 But Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer.

-Luke 5:15-16 NLT

Voices In the Wilderness

We seem to imagine that since Herod beheaded John the Baptist, there is no longer any voice crying in the wilderness. But no one in the wilderness can possibly make such a mistake, for every one of these flowers is such a voice. No wilderness in the world is so desolate as to be without divine ministers. God’s love covers all the earth as the sky covers it, and also fills it in every pore. And this love has voices heard by all who have ears to hear.

01/10/2012 Scripture

“But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.””
