06/02/2011 scripture

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God

06/01/2011 scripture

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear , even though the earth be removed, and thought the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountians shake with its swelling.

05/31/2011 scripture

So, my brothers, we must not be ruled by our sinful selves. We must not live the way our sinful selves want. If you use your lives to do the wrong things your sinful selves want, then you will die spiritually. But if you use the Spirit’s help to stop doing the wrong things you do with your body, then you will have true life.

05/30/2011 scripture

But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ then he does not belong to Christ. Your body will always be dead because of sin. But if Christ is in you, then the Spirit gives you life, because Christ made you right with God. God raised Jesus from death. And if God’s Spirit is living in you, then he will also give life to your bodies that die. God is the One who raised Christ from death. And he will give life through his Spirit that lives in you.

05/29/2011 scripture

Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s law, and it never will. That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.

05/28/2011 scripture

So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.

05/27/2011 scripture

Jesus told her, ” I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in the me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this Martha?” “Yes, Lord,” she told him. “I have always believed you are the Messiah., the Son of God, the one who has come into the world from God.”

Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

05/25/2011 scripture

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Make Water From Snow

Melt snow over a stove by adding a little water to the mixture. Choose the wettest snow you can find. Icicles also work. No fire? Fill a bottle 1/3rd full of snow or ice and 1/3rd with water. Shake it well and place between layers of clothing. Do not put the container next to your skin; it will rob your body of heat through conduction.
